The death of Raoul J. Richard of Ocean Westway, Saint John, occurred Monday evening (21 juin) at St. Joseph Hospital in Saint John following a short illness. He was 56.

Born at St Edouard, Kent County, he was a son of the late Patrice and Madelaine (LeBlanc) Richard.

He was employed with Moosehead Breweries tor the past 31 years, and was a member of the Canadian Labor Congress and the AFL- CIO, Local 362. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Canadian Army. He was a member of the Assumption Roman Catholic Parish and had been residing in Saint John for the past 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Evangéline Boudreau; one son, Terrance J. Richard of Saint John; one daughter, Diane M. Richard of London, England; three brothers, Gilbert of St Anne de Kent, Alphonse of St Edouard and Jean-Paul Richard of Cocagne; five sisters, Mrs. Antoine LeBlanc (Irène) and Mrs. Ernest LeBlanc (Lorette), both of Cocagne, Mrs. Walter Martin (Clarence) of Sudbury, Ont., Mrs. Laurent Sarrazin of Ste Rose de Laval, Que., and Mrs. Jules Ouellette (Gilberte) of St Jean Port Joli, Que., several nieces and nephews.

The body is resting at Dupuis Funera1 home, Memramcook. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Memramcook East, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
